• DESCRIPTION - Devil’s Peak, at 1000.5m above sea level, overlooking Table Mountain, Cape Town harbour, Robben Island and the City Bowl, captures the imagination. A hike to this prominent summit overlooking Cape Town will leave you with a great sense of achievement! 

There are various routes to the top, my favourite being this loop via Oppelskop, passing through wonderful fynbos, and breaking the uphill sections with some great flatter contour sections, literally dis-arming the devil in doing so. The ascent is gradual, but expect quite a steep descent as we head straight down from the summit all the way back to the start point. The path has been rebuilt and the views across to neighbouring Table Mountain and Lion’s Head are the BEST! 

• DISTANCE - Approximately 7.5 to 8.5 km

• ELEVATION GAIN - Approximately 600 to 650 m

• DIFFICULTY LEVEL - Moderately hard uphill, steep downhill

• DURATION - Set aside 5 to 5.5 hours for this magnificent hiking experience
